Project "My Film, My Story" (MF, MS)

During a 10-year national FaOC project "My Film, My story” (MF, MV), children and young people aged 5-21, who have difficulty speaking or do not speak, learned how to film, edit and tell their story supported with their own Film as Supported Communication (FaOC). During the project "My Film, My story" it became clear that children and young people have a great talent for making film and could therefore more easily tell their stories, at home and at school.

The project took place at home, at school and within rehabilitation (speech therapy). The "My Film, My Story" project offered the opportunity to develop a practical teaching method together with children and young people, their families, schools and rehabilitation centres; the FaOC .

In the classroom

The teaching method has been developed to be used at home, at school and within rehabilitation to improve oral language skills. By telling a lot of stories and communicating a lot, oral language skills improve! The "My Film, My story" teaching method is linked to the continuous learning line and learning objectives of oral language skills (CED and SLO). Improving storytelling with FaOC can be scored with a practical FaOC scorecard "My Film, My story".
